Emerging Victorious at the Podium

We've heard stories about people dropping out from school because of lack of motivation, but in Heather Shewaybick's case, it was because someone she loved, a family member who she attended classes with, committed suicide.

She quit shortly after her loss because his empty desk caused her grief.

However, years later she returned to school and she graduated. Her journey to the podium was not easy by any means, but she got there having earned many awards for her academic efforts. She's a powerful example of overcoming a hardship. It leads you to wonder what factors cause our youth to quit and ask if there's anything we can suggest to another to stay where we are: in school.
