Addictions...

Some people drink as a way 2 escape
Some people drink 2 mask the pain
Others drink 2 fit in a crowd, 2 simply relate
Some people drink because day 2 day life, is at times hard 2 take
I’ve had friends die without ever realizin’ their fate
Some choose suicide as a way 2 escape
While others were found dead, face down at the bottom of the lake
Some died from the drugs they took
Its an addiction in itself, that turns an honest man into a crook
It’s all in front of you, all you have 2 do is look
I’ve seen alcohol rip families apart,
It’s such a hard way for an innocent
Child 2 get his start, unseen as he cries in the dark
Its from that moment on the he decides 2 make his mark
And follow his heart and pursue his passion for art
But then again…the alcohol can have you locked up and doin’ time for unpaid fines
The alcohol can have you behind bars for minor 2 major crimes
Simply because a dude lost his mind
Even worse it can have you unconscious, and walkin’ blind.
Then there are the people who chose 2 drink and drive
While others are making efforts 2 strive
While others are at the point they need it, simply 2 survive
