Waiting for LOVE

I’m sure all of us have a favorite music artist and when we hear news that our favorite artist is releasing new material, we go nuts. That’s exactly what I did when AVA announced they were in the process of recording a new album. For the past year, I have waited for their new album, LOVE, to be released (Which is out by the way) I just want to share my story on anticipating this album.

It started in January of last year. I was searching for any news and Intel on the band. Soon enough, I found out that they are in the studio recording a new album. I went from being happy to happier. Not long after, I told my friend and he had the same reaction, happy to happier. Now it was time to play the waiting game.

About a month later, in February, I heard Blink 182 had just reunited. My mood went from happy to depressed. Blink 182 is no stranger to AVA. In fact, Tom Delonge, the person who started AVA also started Blink 182 and reunited them. During that time, the reunion made me feel that AVA is going to break up. Don’t get me wrong I love Blink 182, but their music is so childish. Afterward, AVA announced that they were not going to break up at all and that Blink and AVA will co-exist. I was a bit skeptical but I accepted and said, “I guess I can accept the fact that Blink will be around and will be making music”

Addicted to gaming

I have been playing video games since I was 4 years old. My first video game console was the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. At the time, it was the best thing I had. My brother and I would spend hours upon hours on that system.

Our favourite games to play were Mortal Kombat 1 and 2. A couple of years later, the Nintendo 64 came out. That system blew the Super Nintendo Entertainment System out of the water. It had all the best games ever made, including Perfect Dark, Golden Eye 007, Mortal Kombat 4, Star Wars, Mario Kart 64, just to name a few. It was very popular.

All of my friends had a 64 and I remember we would always go over to each other’s house and bring our controllers to play Golden Eye. I got so addicted to the 64. I never went outside to play. My parents would lock up my Nintendo 64 in the storage room and only let it out on weekends. When I turned 10, my parents bought me a Sony Playstation. I absolutely loved it more than the Nintendo 64. It had so many groundbreaking games.

The system’s library was legendary, it had the Resident Evil series, Driver 1 and 2, Final Fantasy, Dinocrisis, Metal Gear, and the list goes on.

When the Playstation 2 (PS2) was released I wanted it so bad.

I couldn’t get it until I was 13, three years after it was released. Getting the PS2 later than earlier was a good idea because before 2003, the PS2 library sucked. Well, except Grand Theft Auto 3. It was a hit.

Afterwards, PS2 was the only thing I was playing all day and everyday. I played the PS2 for a good 4 years until I bought its successor, the PS3. As of right now, the PS3 is my final destination for video game consoles until a PS4 comes out.
